BIM Coordinator – Cape Town

About the role

Our client, an established architectural practice in Bellville, is looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator to lead BIM coordination, digital workflows and model quality across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate BIM requirements and standards across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage model coordination, identify clashes and resolve model issues.
• Conduct model health audits and implement quality‑assurance processes.
• Support teams with Revit drawing production, detailing and model development.
• Develop and maintain BIM libraries, families and templates.
• Provide technical support and training on BIM workflows and drawing systems.
• Assist with the implementation of AI, automation and emerging architectural technologies.
• Research and test new digital tools, plugins and software to improve studio efficiency.
• Mentor junior staff and promote BIM best practices.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in architecture or construction.
• Strong experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models and implementing BIM standards.
• Proven ability to conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues.
• Experience developing BIM content such as families and templates.
• Ability to provide technical support and training to architectural teams.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Extensive use of Autodesk Suite and BIM tools.
• Knowledge of Dynamo (advantageous).
• Experience with clash detection, model quality control and point‑cloud data (advantageous).
