About the role
The Assistant Company Secretary will support the Board and its committees by ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, effective communication with stakeholders, and rigorous corporate governance compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily functions of the Board and its committees, acting as the primary liaison between the Board and internal/external stakeholders.
- Prepare, distribute, and manage board meeting materials, agendas, and minutes.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, processing, and administration of all corporate governance matters.
- Execute XBRL conversions and submit required filings to the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
Required profile
- Matric certificate and CIS qualification.
- Chartered Secretary status; membership of IODSA is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate governance and a company secretarial environment.
- Proficiency with company secretarial software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
