Area Sales Manager – Consumer Products

About the role

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager to lead the consumer products business in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships and ensuring high‑quality merchandising across assigned accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve customer satisfaction, revenue targets and long‑term account goals.
• Visit existing customers, present and sell L'Oréal products, and follow up on leads and referrals.
• Identify new sales prospects, establish and maintain client relationships, and resolve client concerns.
• Develop and execute special sales activities to reduce stock and meet targets through marketing strategies.
• Prepare action plans, schedules, and sales administration paperwork, including contracts and status reports.
• Provide competitor feedback, price surveys and promotion insights.
• Communicate new product opportunities and educate retail chains on L'Oréal offerings.
• Maintain up‑to‑date sales materials, product knowledge and implement planograms.
• Direct external merchandisers and ensure in‑store merchandising follows brand layouts.

Required profile

• Master’s level commerce fundamentals with strong business‑driving mindset.
• Proven ability to optimise turnover and profit while staying current on market, consumer and competitor trends.
• Excellent problem‑solving, planning and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal communication, attention to detail and diplomatic approach.
• Ability to handle pressure, work independently and as part of a team.
• People‑management experience, especially with sales agents and beauty advisors.
