Apprentice Bus and Coach Engineer

About the role

Join JMB Travel’s engineering team as an Apprentice Bus and Coach Engineer. You will work full‑time in a modern garage workshop, earning while you study for an SCQF Level 7 qualification in Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with vehicle servicing, MOT preparation and routine maintenance.
• Remove, replace and overhaul major components on buses and coaches.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and high‑voltage systems on electric vehicles.
• Inspect heavy vehicles and use automotive tools and measuring devices.
• Diagnose chassis and pneumatic braking systems, as well as engine and transmission faults.
• Maintain health and safety standards and contribute to good housekeeping.

Required profile

• Expected to achieve National 4 or above in English, Maths and a Science or Technical subject.
• Willingness to work full‑time on‑site in a garage environment.
• Motivation to learn and progress within the automotive sector.
