Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will support the Financial Manager and Financial Director in day‑to‑day financial activities for Tuning Fork Pty Ltd. The role is based in Sandton and is available for immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Participate actively in month‑end close, including processing period‑end journals.
• Prepare flash reports, monthly management accounts and the accounting pack within agreed timelines.
• Compile quarterly Audit Committee and Board reports.
• Maintain balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure timely production.
• Assist the Financial Director with the preparation of annual budgets aligned with business strategy.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insight for operational decisions.
• Review monthly creditor reconciliations and authorise payments to local and foreign suppliers.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a financial accountant role.
• SAIPA registration is an advantage.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS, the Tax Act and the Companies Act.
• Strong analytical, business judgement and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Practical knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
