Working Foreman – Forklift & Heavy Machinery

About the role

The Working Foreman will lead the workshop team, ensuring best management practices are applied to deliver profitable, customer‑focused services. This full‑time role combines operational oversight with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage workshop operations in line with budget, work‑in‑progress, scheduling and quality standards.
• Drive profitability of individual workshops, maintenance contracts and overall department performance.
• Ensure high‑level customer service, rapid response times and professional service delivery.
• Oversee personnel matters including performance monitoring, payroll data, leave management and internal communication.
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc reports.
• Maintain health and safety compliance, ASEC requirements and all relevant regulations.
• Promote operational innovation and growth of the workshop in line with company strategy.

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a mechanic.
• Forklift technician qualification or equivalent technical certification.
• Proven experience in a workshop or technical service environment, preferably within the materials handling industry.
• Familiarity with EIE Group products and value‑added offerings.
• Experience using the Kerridge system.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a workshop team and achieve set targets.
