Wool & Mohair Operations Manager

About the role

Bophelo Wool & Mohair is seeking an experienced and motivated manager to lead its wool and mohair division. You will oversee all operational aspects, drive product quality, and build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the wool and mohair department.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies, manage client relationships, and drive procurement.
• Oversee sorting and classing of wool and mohair.
• Guide, monitor, and support department staff.
• Ensure material quality meets company standards and specifications.
• Manage documentation related to wool and mohair transactions.
• Liaise with village chiefs and farmers nationwide.
• Maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and standards.

Required profile

• BSc in Agriculture.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the wool and mohair sector with verifiable references.
• Familiarity with wool and mohair market trends.
• Basic computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong communication, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Team player with a positive attitude and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s licence is an advantage.
