About the role

The Technical University of Hamburg invites applications for a permanent scientific staff position (TV-L 14) as a Research Associate in the Research Group for Numerical Structural Analysis. You will work under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Düster, contributing to cutting‑edge research in structural engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement numerical models for structural analysis.
• Conduct simulations, interpret results, and validate methodologies.
• Prepare scientific publications and present findings at conferences.
• Collaborate with national and international research partners.
• Participate in teaching activities and supervise student projects where applicable.

Required profile

• Completed university degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, applied mathematics or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and spoken English; German language skills are a plus.
