Web Developer & SEO Specialist (Johannesburg)

About the role

We are looking for a creative, results‑driven Web Developer & SEO Specialist to own and launch a new website for a law firm. You will turn approved design mockups into a fast, fully responsive site and continuously improve its search visibility and conversion performance.

Key responsibilities

• Convert design mockups into a polished, responsive website and manage it end‑to‑end after launch.
• Build and maintain practice‑area pages, location landing pages and blog templates within the CMS.
• Optimize UX, page speed, accessibility, security and bug‑free performance.
• Own site architecture, internal linking, crawlability, indexation, XML sitemaps, redirects and Core Web Vitals.
• Implement structured data and legal schema (LegalService, FAQ, Review, Breadcrumb).
• Conduct high‑intent keyword research focused on case‑driving terms and local locations.
• Collaborate on on‑page content optimisation while respecting E‑E‑A‑T and YMYL standards.
• Manage Google Business Profile, local citations and location pages for map‑pack visibility.
• Support link‑building and digital‑PR initiatives to increase domain authority.
• Run CRO experiments on intake forms, click‑to‑call and live chat to boost conversions.
• Own GA4, Google Search Console, lead/call tracking and rank tracking to shape growth roadmaps.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience at the intersection of web development and SEO (agency or in‑house).
• Proven ability to design and launch fast, conversion‑focused sites on Webflow or WordPress.
• Strong track record with technical, on‑page and local SEO strategies.
• Highly organized, able to manage full web launches independently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the legal services sector is a plus.
