Ward Hostess – Fixed-Term Contract in Cape Town

About the role

Empact Group Food Solutions is looking for a dedicated Ward Hostess to join its Cape Town team. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will ensure ward food and beverage stations are stocked, hygienic and organized while delivering meals and refreshments to patients, clients and visitors in a compassionate and professional manner.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages promptly to patients, clients and visitors, attend to special requests and provide friendly, compassionate service.
• Maintain fully stocked food and beverage preparation areas and ward pantries, keep the environment clean, hygienic and organized in line with health standards, and support the Unit Manager in daily operations.
• Support operational performance and client satisfaction by following company policies, safety procedures and food‑hygiene guidelines; track inventory and assist with basic record‑keeping using fundamental math and analytical skills.

Required profile

• Educational qualification: High School Diploma / Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Ward Hostess or in an identical role, with prior hospitality or hospital environment experience and proven customer‑service background.
• Knowledge: Basic mathematics and stock‑control, understanding of food hygiene, safety standards and ward service etiquette.
• Skills & competencies: Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, ability to work under pressure in a healthcare setting, and a professional, friendly team‑player attitude.
