VIP Bodyguard (x4 positions)

About the role

Midvaal Local Municipality is recruiting four bodyguards to provide VIP protection for the Executive Mayor, Speaker and other identified dignitaries. This is a fixed-term position linked to the term of office, open to qualified close-protection professionals. The total remuneration package is R459,939.20 per annum, inclusive of benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Protect the Executive Mayor, Speaker and other at-risk dignitaries
• Provide static and in-transit security
• Drive principals safely to designated destinations
• Plan security arrangements for venues and travel routes
• Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain service records
• Perform duties after hours and on weekends
• Provide general office administration when required

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Close Protection Officer (CPO) qualification
• At least 2-3 years' VIP / close-protection experience
• Knowledge of VIP Protection Services
• Valid driver's licence and valid firearm licence with competency to operate a firearm
• Strong communication, problem-solving and conflict-management skills; able to handle stressful situations

Required skills

• Computer literacy: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Advantageous: advanced driving certificate, leadership and negotiation skills, strong administrative and report-writing skills
