Videographer & Content Production Assistant

About the role

Studio Portal, a Cape Town‑based creative production studio, is seeking a practical and technically‑minded Videographer & Content Production Assistant. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the camera, has a basic understanding of video and audio production, and is eager to learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate cameras for video recordings, interviews, podcasts and other content shoots.
• Configure and manage audio recording equipment, including Zoom H6 sound recorders and audio levelling.
• Perform basic lighting setup to achieve professional‑looking video.
• Operate ATEM recording systems and support other recording hardware.
• Assist with video editing using DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Work with Adobe Creative Cloud tools as part of the content production workflow.
• Support basic audio mastering and post‑production tasks.
• Manage, back up and organise footage and project files.
• Help with shot composition to ensure strong visual storytelling.

Required profile

• Reliable, detail‑oriented and calm under pressure.
• Own reliable transport and ability to travel to shoots in and around Cape Town City Centre.
• Reside close enough to Cape Town City Centre to attend production days as needed.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative and solve problems without creating drama.

Required skills

• Camera operation.
• Experience with sound recording equipment (e.g., Zoom H6).
• Basic lighting setup for video.
• Familiarity with ATEM recording systems.
• Video editing in DaVinci Resolve and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud products.
• Basic audio mastering.
• Strong file management and organisational skills.
