Underwriter – Mining Guarantees

About the role

Network International is seeking an experienced Underwriter to lead the Mining Guarantees portfolio. You will work with a diverse range of mining clients across South Africa, the broader African continent, and selected international markets, delivering innovative guarantee solutions that meet regulatory and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial statements, conduct trend analysis and benchmark client performance.
• Underwrite mining rehabilitation guarantees and related guarantee products.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of mining sector clients, maintaining strong relationships with brokers and stakeholders.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes and market developments affecting the mining sector.
• Contribute to product development initiatives and business growth strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Mining Engineering, Law or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in credit risk, financial services, insurance, banking, mining or related fields.
• Proven experience in financial statement analysis, project finance or structured transactions.
• Strong client relationship management and commercial judgement.
• FAIS compliance and RE5 certification are advantageous but not essential.
