Trauma‑Qualified Registered Nurse – Emergency Unit

About the role

The Emergency Unit at Life Kingsbury Hospital is seeking a trauma‑qualified Registered Nurse to join the multidisciplinary team. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will provide evidence‑based, holistic clinical care to acute patients while supporting the hospital’s strategic goals of growth, efficiency, quality and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver market‑leading, evidence‑based clinical care to trauma and emergency patients.
• Coordinate resources efficiently, including pharmacy, clinical engineering and stock management, within budgetary parameters.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance business growth.
• Promote a safe, healthy work environment and enforce infection‑prevention policies.
• Participate in quality management systems and patient safety initiatives.
• Manage labour hours and optimise utilisation of pharmaceuticals, equipment and sundries.

Required profile

• Grade 12 Senior National Certificate.
• General Nursing Degree or Diploma (post‑graduate diploma/degree in emergency nursing is an advantage).
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Relevant experience in an emergency or trauma setting.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
