Transport Controller – Container & Reefer Logistics

About the role

The Transport Controller will oversee the planning, coordination and monitoring of container movements between Bolster's facility and Cape Town Port. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that loads arrive and depart on schedule while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule transport and update dispatch plans for inbound and outbound containers.
• Track loads in the transport management system to guarantee on‑time arrivals and departures.
• Liaise with drivers, operations staff and customers to resolve delays and manage documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on container movements.
• Prioritise urgent loads and respond to operational issues promptly.
• Support efficient use of reefer plug‑in and staging facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and port regulations.

Required profile

• Experience in transport planning, dispatch coordination or fleet control within logistics, port or container operations.
• Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple schedules in a time‑sensitive environment.
• Excellent attention to detail for documentation and data entry.
• Ability to work on‑site in Cape Town with flexibility for shift work or extended hours during peak periods.
• Relevant qualification or training in logistics, transport management or supply chain is an advantage.
