Training Controller

About the role

As a Training Controller you will create and sustain a progressive learning environment for Level 1 and Level 2 teams at the Maltings plant. You will be responsible for delivering effective training, identifying learning opportunities, and supporting the plant’s performance through competence development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver training to the shop floor and facilitate VPO and operational training interventions.
• Identify learning opportunities and develop apprenticeship programmes.
• Maintain and update training documentation and SOPs.
• Manage SKAP administrative processes, schedule assessments and ensure compliance with the SKAP assessment plan.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and coach teams on problem‑solving tools and VPO practices.
• Facilitate the design of foundational practices and assist in SOP development.
• Provide coaching resources for performance and management processes.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain or a recognised Training & Development qualification (NQF Level 6+).
• Advanced PC literacy, especially MS Office.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to training functions.
• Ability to deliver diverse learning and coaching solutions and interact confidently at all organisational levels.
• Knowledge of the Skills Development Act and related legislation.
• Strong analytical ability and good self‑management skills.
