Townplanner Engineer – Strategic Land Development

About the role

The Townplanner Engineer will provide strategic design and independent quality assurance for large‑scale land development projects, helping to minimise risk for the Development Bank of South Africa and its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the packaging of complex strategic land‑development initiatives.
• Deliver project‑management services, coordination and specialist technical input for strategic urban‑planning programmes, including development frameworks and forward‑planning.
• Investigate strategic sites to resolve issues that hinder planning objectives and development outcomes.
• Advise and support staff across other branches on specialised town‑planning matters.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in Town Planning, City and Regional Planning, or a related Built Environment discipline with relevant experience.
• Project Management qualification (advantageous) and experience in precinct planning.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in multidisciplinary strategic planning and land‑use management.
• Strong knowledge of municipal processes, organisations and systems.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence and familiarity with CIDB & FIPDM.
