About the role
The SAICA Trainee Accountant – Topp Programme is a three‑year structured training pathway offered by Sanlam, Africa’s largest insurer. Participants will rotate across the Group Office and the five business clusters, gaining hands‑on experience in finance, risk, audit and taxation while working towards Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
Key responsibilities
- Complete rotational assignments in Group Office functions and each of the five Sanlam clusters.
- Support interim and annual financial reporting, ensuring compliance with group and statutory requirements.
- Develop competencies in ethics, business acumen, decision‑making, relational and digital skills.
- Participate in internal audit, governance, risk management, reporting and taxation activities.
- Contribute to the Sanlam value‑creation process through analytical and strategic tasks.
Required profile
- Successful enrolment in the SAICA‑accredited training programme and commitment to meet all education, practical experience and competency requirements.
- Demonstrated high professional standards, strong ethical conduct and accountability.
- Ability to contribute accurately to financial reporting processes.
- Motivation to pursue a CA(SA) qualification and build a long‑term finance career.
