Theatre Unit Manager (Registered Nurse) – West Rand

About the role

The client is dedicated to creating healing environments for their communities and is seeking a committed Registered Nurse to lead the theatre unit. The Theatre Unit Manager will ensure safe, cost‑effective patient care in line with hospital standards while supervising both direct and indirect nursing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage theatre staff, enforce roster compliance and provide assistance with intubation when needed.
• Deliver patient care according to the professional scope and oversee handover reporting at each shift.
• Communicate clearly with patients about their treatment plans and promote overall health and wellbeing.
• Audit health records for compliance and maintain accurate stock control, charging and crediting.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a theatre unit.
• Registered Nurse registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Post‑Basic Theatre qualification and at least 2 years of theatre‑unit experience.
• Computer literate and flexible to work varied shifts.
• Ability to implement and maintain health practice standards as required by accredited bodies.
• BLS/ALS certification is an advantage.
