About the role
A vacancy exists for a Theatre Qualified Registered Nurse at Life Groenkloof Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will assist the surgical team, ensure optimal patient care, and support the hospital’s strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage theatre clocking time and ensure accurate charging for financial management.
- Control consignment stock, equipment and prostheses in line with hospital policy.
- Educate and supervise staff on correct use of theatre equipment and instrumentation.
- Obtain pre‑operative information, visit patients post‑operatively and assist the surgeon during procedures.
- Provide theatre‑specific training, assess staff competence and monitor normal/overtime hours.
Required profile
- General Nursing Degree or Diploma.
- Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Experience in orthopaedics and ortho‑spine is advantageous.
Required skills
- Operating theatre technique.
- Computer proficiency.
