Theatre Administrator

About the role

The Theatre Administrator will be based at Life Kingsbury Hospital in Johannesburg and will report to the Theatre Manager. The role focuses on managing preference cards and supporting an efficient e‑billing system for surgical and anaesthetic procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update surgical and anaesthetic preference cards, obtaining required sign‑offs.
• Load preference cards onto the system for daily theatre lists and emergency cases.
• Monitor the Impilo Dashboard, resolve errors, and manually capture billing for stock and equipment.
• Capture procedures and items for the electronic theatre register and case management.
• Act as a super‑user champion for multi‑touch screen troubleshooting.
• Assist with consignment stock, loan set coordination, cycle counts and monthly stock takes.
• Collaborate on stock variance reports to meet hospital targets.

Required profile

• Matric certificate.
• Experience in billing and stock management, with theatre billing experience essential.
• Previous work in a theatre environment or Life Healthcare hospital is advantageous.
• Strong computer proficiency and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with doctors and work well in a team.
