Textile Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Textile Buyer to join our procurement team at a well‑established clothing manufacturer. The role involves sourcing and purchasing fabrics, trims, accessories and packaging to ensure uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase fabric, trims, accessories, packaging and other production materials according to approved requirements.
• Liaise with Production and Planning to confirm material needs and delivery dates.
• Place orders promptly to avoid production delays and monitor supplier lead times.
• Source alternative materials or suppliers when required.
• Ensure purchased items meet specifications and quality standards.
• Review stock levels with Stores/Warehouse, identify shortages and manage minimum/maximum stock.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders, maintain accurate records and match invoices with deliveries.
• Capture pricing information and provide purchasing reports to management.

Required profile

• Matriculation (or equivalent) with 1‑3 years of buying/procurement experience, preferably in clothing or textile manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication across departments.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced).
• Experience with ERP or purchasing systems.

What we offer

• Monthly remuneration of R10 000 – R12 000.
