Temporary Primary School Teacher Assistant – Pretoria/Tshwane

About the role

SPARK Schools is seeking a temporary Primary School Teacher Assistant to support classroom and distance‑learning environments in the Pretoria/Tshwane region. Working under the guidance of a mentor teacher, you will co‑plan and co‑teach lessons, help manage assessments and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑plan and deliver in‑person and online lessons alongside a mentor teacher.
• Lead intervention and acceleration sessions, and teach select lessons for practice and feedback.
• Support assessment marking, grade homework, and track scholar progress.
• Facilitate academic clubs, enrichment activities, and project‑based learning, including coding and robotics sessions.
• Assist with data tracking, personalised learning plans, and analysis of scholar performance.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement SPARK’s blended learning model.

Required profile

• Passion for education and student development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a mentor teacher and school staff.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to engage in professional development and feedback sessions.

Required skills

• Basic coding knowledge.
• Familiarity with robotics education tools.
• Comfort using educational technology platforms for blended learning.
