Temporary Credit Controller – Sandton

About the role

Our client, a leading private‑healthcare provider, is urgently looking for a temporary Credit Controller to support its finance team in Sandton, Johannesburg. The position starts immediately and follows a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule (07:30‑16:00). The role focuses on protecting the organisation’s cash flow and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding balances.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively minimise financial risk while maximising collection of overdue debt.
• Collect outstanding balances within agreed benchmarks and follow‑up on unclaimed over‑payments and bad debt.
• Ensure effective utilisation of resources to achieve optimal efficiency in the credit‑control process.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education (minimum).
• Debt‑collection experience, with two‑to‑three years preferred, ideally in a private‑hospital environment.
• Familiarity with patient‑administration policies and medical‑aid requirements.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite.
• Hands‑on experience with AS400, Connect and Debtpack Enterprise Systems.
• Knowledge of credit‑control legislation such as the National Credit Act and Consumer Protection Act.
• Understanding of financial processes including reconciliations, debits/credits and adjustment journals.
