Technology/Domain Specialist II

About the role

The Technology/Domain Specialist II will own and evolve multiple technology or domain assets, ensuring their health and alignment with organisational roadmaps. This senior position provides technical leadership across Centres of Excellence and collaborates with architects, engineering leads and senior executives.

Key responsibilities

• Guide stakeholders on technology and domain expertise, influencing design and integration decisions.
• Conduct technology reviews, code quality assurance, and define patterns, practices and standards.
• Advise engineering leads and division executives on asset health and risk mitigation.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical roadmaps within governance and compliance frameworks.
• Plan and drive implementation of agreed roadmaps, including research and development experiments.
• Participate in special interest groups, conferences and internal knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Coach, mentor and up‑skill team members, contributing to corporate culture and responsibility initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in relevant technologies or domains.
• Matric / Grade 12 (NQF Level) – preferred a degree or diploma in IT.
• Strong decision‑making, courage, stress tolerance and quality orientation.
• Proven ability to work within governance, compliance and risk‑management frameworks.
