Technician – Cash Processing Equipment Maintenance

About the role

SBV Services is looking for a hands‑on Technician to maintain, troubleshoot and optimise cash processing equipment such as banknote and coin counters and sorters. The role ensures maximum uptime, operational efficiency and compliance with business continuity standards in a continuous‑operations environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on SBV cash‑processing machinery.
• Execute preventative maintenance plans, respond to equipment failures and conduct sensor analysis.
• Carry out daily equipment inspections, early fault detection and incident resolution.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts to minimise downtime.
• Compile and submit daily and monthly performance reports, including uptime, downtime and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and support ESG reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of on‑site technical experience with automated, electro‑mechanical or industrial equipment.
• Experience in a cash‑processing, banking, manufacturing or security‑controlled environment is advantageous.
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician, Fitter & Turner) or NQF Level 5 diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering.
• Technical certifications or OEM training on automated equipment is a plus.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office) for reporting and system updates.
