Technician Assistant – Railway Maintenance

About the role
Bombela Maintenance, a subsidiary of Alstom, is seeking a Technician Assistant to support corrective and preventative railway maintenance activities. You will work alongside experienced technicians, following their instructions to keep Gautrain services safe and on time.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the maintenance team with general tasks during corrective and preventative work.
- Perform physical work tasks and general housekeeping on the maintenance site.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations at all times.
- Support effective teamwork and self‑management in a shift‑based environment.
Required profile
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- Basic understanding of maintenance tools.
- Rail or production‑related experience is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including work at heights.
- Ability to distinguish colours.
Required skills
- Basic maintenance tool knowledge.
