Technical Sales Lead

About the role

Ozow is seeking a Technical Sales Lead to shape the strategy and delivery of its payment solutions for merchants. Based in Cape Town, the role combines commercial acumen with technical expertise to drive growth across the merchant base.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the overall strategy for engaging Ozow’s merchant base and develop compelling solution propositions.
• Translate merchant requirements into commercial and technical proposals and guide them from concept to delivery in partnership with Product and Engineering.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with banks, infrastructure providers and other partners to support payment solutions.
• Drive revenue growth by acquiring new enterprise and complex merchants and collaborating with Sales, Product and Engineering on go‑to‑market plans.
• Establish and lead the solutions function, including team development, process creation and OKR achievement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a commercial, technical or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in payments, fintech or enterprise technology, with a proven track record of designing and selling complex solutions.
• Experience building and managing key partner relationships, especially with banks or platforms.
• Strong commercial and technical fluency, able to structure and price deals while collaborating with product and engineering teams.
• Excellent executive presence, influencing skills and ability to work across multiple departments.
