Technical & Regulatory Manager

About the role

IMETA is seeking a Technical & Regulatory Manager to join its Animal Health team in Johannesburg. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance for Boehringer Ingelheim veterinary products, overseeing registration, pharmacovigilance, and promotional material approval.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit dossiers for new veterinary product registrations in accordance with South African and Sub‑Saharan regulations.
• Maintain existing product registrations through timely updates, variations, and renewals.
• Review and approve advertising and promotional materials to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and codex.
• Manage pharmacovigilance reporting, maintaining systems and providing technical product knowledge.
• Support stakeholder meetings to build internal and external regulatory networks.
• Assist with registration activities for additional Sub‑Saharan markets aligned with portfolio strategies.
• Ensure veterinary packaging artwork complies with South African and SSA regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support, customer inquiries, and training for assigned products.
• Collaborate with Quality Control to meet SAHPRA legal and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine or Pharmacy.
• Minimum 3 years experience in regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry in South Africa or Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council or South African Pharmacy Council.

Required skills

• Strong scientific and technical knowledge of veterinary medicines.
• Experience handling regulatory dossiers and compliance projects.
• Ability to interpret and apply local veterinary regulations.
