Technical Proposal Writer – Smart Mobility & IoT

About the role

Join a fast‑moving team in Bellville, Cape Town, as a Technical Proposal Writer. You will translate complex smart‑mobility, IoT hardware and SaaS solutions into clear documentation and compelling public‑sector bids.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain user guides, installation manuals, quick‑start guides, cut sheets and training materials for software, SaaS and hardware solutions.
• Develop internal SOPs, work instructions and other documentation to support quality and training.
• Respond to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs by drafting technical content, methodologies, executive summaries and supporting documents.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners and subject‑matter experts to ensure accurate and compliant bid responses.
• Proofread and fact‑check all content against procurement requirements, technical specifications and brand standards.
• Build and manage a structured bid‑response library and maintain proposal templates and version control in Google Drive.
• Contribute to the design of AI‑assisted proposal tools by organising the underlying knowledge base.
• Coordinate with a Cape Town manager and daily collaborators in the US and India, adjusting working hours for overlap.

Required profile

• Strong technical writing ability with experience in product documentation and bid writing.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, multi‑regional environment and managing multiple deadlines.
• Proactive attitude in identifying documentation gaps and proposing improvements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Drive (document management and version control).
• Experience with creating user guides, installation manuals and training materials.
• Familiarity with public‑sector procurement processes (RFP, RFI, RFQ).
