Technical Electrical Sales Representative

About the role

Our client is looking for a dynamic Technical Electrical Sales Representative to join their growing team in Durban. The role combines technical expertise with sales acumen to develop new business and nurture existing client relationships in the electrical and industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the electrical, industrial automation, switchgear, motors and VSD markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients through regular visits and technical consultations.
• Prepare, present and follow up on quotations and proposals, providing product selection assistance and technical support.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets and monitor market trends and competitor activity.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of external/technical B2B sales experience, preferably in electrical, industrial automation, switchgear, motors or VSD.
• Strong understanding of technical electrical products and applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Technical qualification, diploma or trade background is advantageous.
