Technical Consultant – Johannesburg

About the role

Our client is seeking a Technical Consultant to provide expert advice on concrete design and construction processes in the Johannesburg area. The role focuses on ensuring material quality, compliance with standards, and supporting project teams with technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical consultancy on concrete mix design and construction methodologies.
• Ensure all materials and processes comply with SANS specifications for aggregates, cement, and concrete.
• Oversee quality‑control procedures for cement, aggregates, admixtures and finished concrete.
• Monitor market trends and emerging technical requirements within the construction sector.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to resolve material‑related issues.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Chemistry or Civil Engineering.
• Advanced Concrete Technology (ACT) diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, concrete design and related processes.

Required skills

• Concrete design expertise.
• Understanding of material interactions (cement, aggregates, admixtures).
• Quality‑control procedures for construction materials.
• Knowledge of SANS specifications for aggregates, cement and concrete.
• Awareness of market trends and technical requirements in the construction industry.
