Team Leader – Cash in Transit

About the role

The Team Leader will support the Operations Manager in the Cash in Transit (CIT) division at our Port Shepstone branch. The role ensures that CIT operations follow established procedures, schedules, and safety standards while maintaining high levels of service and security.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and report on vehicle condition, including mechanical faults, refuelling, and cleanliness.
• Assist with daily operational requirements and manage CIT schedules during transit.
• Drive the CIT vehicle when required and ensure accident prevention and reporting.
• Carry out security drills, monitor suspicious activity, and liaise with controllers.
• Communicate with clients, management, and staff, handling documentation, rosters, and reports.
• Support risk management, compliance, and timely reporting of delays to the Operations Manager.

Required profile

• Clear criminal record and clear disciplinary record.
• PSIRA accreditation with at least a Grade C qualification.
• Cash In Transit (CIT) certificate and firearm competency (handgun qualification).
• Computer literate and at least three years’ experience in the security industry.
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous) and own transport (advantageous).
• Ability to work under pressure, irregular hours, and maintain high attention to detail.
