Teacher Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our Durban campus and support classroom teachers in delivering high‑quality education. The role involves assisting with lesson preparation, providing individualized support to learners, and helping maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons.
• Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group support to students.
• Monitor and track student progress and report to teachers.
• Support classroom and behaviour management.
• Prepare teaching materials and resources.
• Supervise students during breaks and extracurricular activities.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Perform administrative tasks assigned by the head teacher.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma; a degree in education or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children or in a classroom setting is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students’ lives.
