Tax & Reporting Accountant

About the role

This position is based in Midrand and offers a pivotal role in consolidating financial information, managing tax processes, and delivering high‑quality reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with business units, international teams, and senior management to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate month‑end financial information and prepare comprehensive reporting packs for head office and business units on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Upload actuals, forecasts, and budget data into Hyperion and Prevero systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Supervise the preparation and consolidation of annual financial statements and other statutory reports.
• Review intercompany transactions for compliance with tax regulations across relevant jurisdictions.
• Act as the primary local contact for international teams regarding Hyperion queries and financial reporting matters.
• Prepare detailed financial inputs for quarterly Board meetings and monthly EXCO packs.
• Perform tax calculations and manage returns for income tax, VAT, WHT, and PAYE, monitoring filing deadlines.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to queries.
• Lead the financial and commercial reporting team, fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in tax and financial reporting within large or complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, intercompany transactions, and tax regulations.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional and international teams.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to support strategic decision‑making.
