Tax Manager – Port Elizabeth

About the role

Our client, a respected accounting, auditing and advisory practice in Walmer, Port Elizabeth, is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of corporate, trust, individual and partnership tax clients. The role combines technical tax compliance, strategic advisory and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review income tax, provisional tax, EMP201, EMP501, VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns for a range of clients.
• Provide strategic tax planning across corporate tax, CGT, VAT, dividend tax, estate planning, restructures and international tax.
• Liaise directly with SARS, handling audits, verifications, objections, appeals and dispute resolution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering proactive tax advice.
• Mentor and supervise junior tax consultants to ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting, BCom Taxation or equivalent; postgraduate tax qualification is a plus.
• Registered Tax Practitioner (SAIT) preferred; CA(SA) advantageous but not essential.
• 5‑8 years of taxation experience within an accounting or auditing practice.
• Proven experience managing a tax portfolio and dealing directly with SARS.
• Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
