Tax Administrator

About the role

C2M Chartered Accountants is seeking a Tax Administrator to join its Tax Team in Tyger Valley, Bellville (Cape Town). You will manage client tax administration across multiple tax types, maintain accurate records, support SARS submissions and queries, and ensure all tax‑related deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update client information on ProfTax, SARS eFiling and internal systems.
• Capture, verify and update banking details, ID/passport data, public officer appointments, addresses and RAV details.
• Register and deregister clients for Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, UIF, COID, RMA, NPO, Customs, Trusts and other tax types.
• Prepare and submit documentation for registrations, deregistrations and client changes.
• Schedule and attend SARS appointments, follow up on outstanding matters.
• Handle minor tax‑related queries from clients and internal teams.
• Prepare applications for tax directives and other SARS requests.
• Assist with COID audits, compliance reviews, monthly reports and ad‑hoc reporting.
• Maintain audit trails, supporting documentation and structured filing systems.
• Provide general administrative support to the tax team, especially during peak periods.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a tax administration role.
• Experience in an accounting, auditing or professional services environment is advantageous.
• Strong integrity, confidentiality and client‑service mindset.
• Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a team.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SARS eFiling.
• Experience with ProfTax (advantageous).
• Understanding of tax registration, deregistration and compliance deadlines.
• Strong computer literacy across multiple systems.
