Target Generating Operator (FAOR X4) – 36‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

The Target Generating Operator (FAOR X4) provides simulator support functions within the SSS domain for ATNS. This 36‑month fixed‑term position involves preparing and operating air‑traffic simulators to deliver realistic training scenarios for instructors and delegates.

Key responsibilities

• Set up simulators in accordance with standard practice.
• Attend pre‑brief and de‑brief sessions with ATS instructors and delegates.
• Fly exercises according to defined objectives.
• Manipulate simulator‑generated tracks using the Air Traffic Management Display Simulator and pilot positions.
• Capture, program, and test ICAO flight‑plan details in the simulator database.
• Coordinate with Air Traffic Services personnel to obtain real data for exercise creation.
• Research, develop, write, program, test and re‑engineer exercises to meet client training requirements.
• Maintain and update training documentation, aircraft type performance references, and IAIP files.
• Provide timely feedback to clients and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (or equivalent) with Mathematics and English as passed subjects; Geography is an advantage.
• Minimum 3–6 months of related work experience or exposure.

Required skills

• Simulator operation.

• Air Traffic Management (ATM) display systems.
