T1 Technician – Surface & Underground – Springs – Gold

About the role

The T1 Technician will provide comprehensive technical services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electronic technology used for health, safety and productivity on mining sites. The role covers both surface and underground environments, focusing on spring‑based systems in gold mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and support electronic products and systems to the highest technical and safety standards.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks in line with company policy.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software according to client scope and company standards.
• Report and record maintenance requirements and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand and small power tools safely and maintain good housekeeping.
• Liaise with other technical staff and on‑site customers to ensure quality, safety and contractual compliance.
• Provide regular feedback to the Technical Coordinator and Supervisor and support senior technicians.

Required profile

• Minimum N5 qualification in Electrical/Electronics.
• At least 4 years of experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to make prudent decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, clear communication and empathy.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
