Systems Administrator – Autodesk Plant 3D specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to lead the support and maintenance of our engineering CAD and IT environment in Johannesburg. The role focuses on Autodesk Plant 3D and related tools, ensuring reliable operation for engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support for Engineering CAD and IT systems, including hardware, software, and network configurations.
• Set up, configure, and maintain Computer‑Aided Engineering Systems (CAES) workstations, layering conventions, symbology, and drawing sheets.
• Manage printing/plotting services, network plotting configurations, and monthly plotting records.
• Maintain drawing structures, EDMS records, and ensure accurate distribution of updated drawings.
• Track hardware/software inventories, workstation registrations, and user access information.
• Coordinate asset management tasks such as Papercut accounts, office access control, SharePoint support, and Plant 3D backups.
• Audit 2D/3D media, enforce CAD standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of drafting procedures.
• Collaborate with software suppliers, internal teams, and project leads to resolve issues and implement updates.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Autodesk products, especially Plant 3D.
• Proven ability to manage CAD workstations, network groups, and documentation systems in an engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of CAD standards, AutoCAD features, and best drafting practices.
• Experience with Oracle project loading, SharePoint, and IT procurement processes.
