About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Surgical Care Worker to support nursing unit staff in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care within a multidisciplinary hospital environment. The role focuses on assisting the team, ensuring efficient stock use, and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist nursing unit staff in delivering quality patient care.
• Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting the nursing team.
• Provide administrative support as specified.
• Participate in continuous personal development to build staff competence.
• Ensure efficient utilisation and accurate charging of required stock.

Required profile

• Appropriate qualification as a Care Worker.
• Grade 12 education.
• Experience in a healthcare environment.

Required skills

• Understanding of stock control principles.
• Ability to report and document events/tasks.
• Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
• Familiarity with administrative tasks.
• Understanding of patient experience aspects and care principles.
• Application of infection prevention and control principles.
