Structural Draughtsman / Technician (Full‑time)

About the role

A reputable consulting engineering firm is looking for a Structural Draughtsman / Technician to join its Durbanville office on a permanent basis. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality structural designs and drawings for residential, commercial, industrial and educational projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D structural drawings and models.
• Develop conceptual layouts for structural projects.
• Manage drawing production, revisions and document control.
• Ensure drawings are issued on time and meet project specifications.
• Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and dimensions.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects and other stakeholders.
• Perform ad‑hoc site inspections and prepare technical reports.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and building codes.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in structural drafting.
• Proven experience on building structures (residential, commercial, industrial, or educational).
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations and building codes.
• Site experience is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using Padds / AutoPadds.
