Structural Design Engineer

About the role

We are a leading independent telecoms infrastructure company operating across Africa and the Middle East. Reporting to the Structural Engineering Manager, the Structural Design Engineer will design and analyse telecommunications towers and related structures to ensure safety, compliance and cost‑effectiveness for new build and colocation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop structural designs for telecommunication towers and associated infrastructure.
• Perform structural analysis and simulations to validate safety, stability and integrity.
• Design foundations and reinforced concrete structures in line with ACI 318 and other standards.
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Design innovative tower strengthening solutions tailored to site‑specific requirements.
• Create new tower and complementary product designs meeting customer and operational needs.
• Prepare engineering packages to support tower selection, construction and deployment.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ANSI/TIA‑222, ACI 318, AISC 360 and ASCE 7.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions within project timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience designing and analysing telecommunication towers or similar steel lattice structures and their foundations.
• Experience producing detailed engineering and fabrication drawings with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Experience using structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, Revit or ASM Tower.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and materials.
