Strategy Consultant – South Africa (UK client focus)

About the role

The South African Technology & Innovation Centre (SATIC), part of PwC’s global network, is seeking a Strategy Consultant to join its South Africa‑based team. The role supports UK‑based public and private sector clients, delivering rigorous economic analysis, modelling and strategic advice. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, guiding complex workstreams and mentoring junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the delivery of strategy projects through research, analysis and structured problem‑solving.
• Develop strategic recommendations addressing business, policy and organisational challenges.
• Conduct market, sector and stakeholder research to generate evidence‑based insights.
• Design and deliver strategic assessments, options appraisals and operating model reviews.
• Synthesise large volumes of information into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Produce high‑quality reports, presentations and client deliverables.
• Coordinate project workstreams across multiple engagements.
• Present findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support business development activities, including proposal writing and thought leadership.
• Coach, mentor and support Associates and more junior team members.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in any discipline; postgraduate qualification is desirable.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, policy or management consulting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of complex workstreams.
