Store Assistant – Stockroom (Full‑Time)

About the role

Join Woolworths as a Store Assistant in the stockroom, supporting the Midlands Mall store in Pietermaritzburg. You will help keep the stockroom organised, hygienic and safe while ensuring smooth movement of merchandise throughout the store.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an organised, clean and safe stockroom in line with company policies and OHASA standards.
• Process stock movements such as returns (RTVs), inter‑branch transfers (IBTs) and waste according to Woolworths guidelines.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to internal customers, responding to requests and inquiries.
• Handle inventory accurately using basic product knowledge and established procedures to minimise shrinkage.
• Support overall store operations by keeping the sales floor and back‑area stocked and tidy.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a retail or FMCG stockroom or receiving environment is highly desirable.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts as required by store operations.
• Strong communication, numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to follow policies, maintain hygiene and safety standards, and demonstrate reliability and integrity.
