SQL Developer – High‑Performance Data Systems

About the role

The client is a technology company delivering integrated software and data solutions for the retail and distribution sector. As an SQL Developer you will design, build and optimise high‑performance database objects that support large‑scale POS, ERP and eCommerce systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain efficient T‑SQL code, including stored procedures, triggers, views and functions.
• Work with both normalized and denormalized database structures to meet diverse system requirements.
• Ensure transaction write speeds remain under 100 ms in high‑volume read/write environments.
• Create and optimise indexed views to enhance reporting performance.
• Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks using tuning best practices.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and implementation teams across multiple projects.
• Support data integrations between POS, eCommerce and ERP platforms such as Sage 200, Sage 300, SYSPRO and Palladium.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing and optimising complex T‑SQL queries and database objects.
• Hands‑on experience with high‑volume transactional databases and performance‑critical systems.
• Strong understanding of database design principles, including both normalized and denormalized structures.
• Demonstrated ability to perform performance tuning, indexing and query optimisation.
• Detail‑oriented, analytical mindset with a drive to deliver reliable data solutions.
