Springlok/Concealed Fix Operator – Gauteng Branch

About the role

Youngman Roofing is seeking skilled operators to run the Springlok/Concealed Fix mill at its Gauteng branch. You will be responsible for meeting production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards on site.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the Springlok/Concealed Fix mill according to the production plan.
• Perform machine set‑ups, reel changes and computer‑based controls.
• Conduct daily inspections, report failures and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure weekly machine maintenance.
• Liaise with logistics or crane operators for material deliveries.
• Supervise casual labour, handle on‑site quality complaints and complete electronic administration.
• Carry out quality control checks and ensure only trained personnel operate the equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues related to shape, coverage, cutting and machine performance.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent; technical qualification is a plus.
• 1–2 years experience as a machine operator in roll‑forming or similar manufacturing environment.
• Junior fitter/turner or tool‑maker background advantageous.
• Code 14 driver’s licence preferred; company may assist.
