Specialist: Supply Chain Management

About the role

The South African Bureau of Standards is seeking a Specialist in Supply Chain Management to lead the sourcing and tender processes for goods and services. This role ensures that all procurement activities are transparent, fair, cost‑effective, and fully compliant with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end sourcing and tender procedures for the acquisition of goods and services.
• Ensure compliance with National Treasury prescripts, SABS procurement policies, PFMA, PPPFA, and other applicable legislation.
• Maintain auditable procurement records and support transparent decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with organisational objectives.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of South African public procurement legislation (PFMA, PPPFA, National Treasury guidelines).
• Experience in managing sourcing, tendering, and contract award processes.
• Ability to work independently while ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
