Solutions Architect

About the role

The Solutions Architect will shape and drive the end‑to‑end architecture of large‑scale digital platforms for Nedbank. Combining deep technical expertise with hands‑on engineering leadership, you will define future‑state architectures, set engineering standards, and guide delivery from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to define the technology roadmap and lead its implementation.
• Define architecture and design patterns, methods, and best‑practice frameworks.
• Conduct technology proof‑of‑concepts, research and development activities.
• Establish and mature engineering practices, tooling, and automation across the tribe.
• Develop critical core platform components and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Guide the engineering team, mentor specialists, and promote continuous learning.
• Ensure solutions align with Nedbank’s environment, legislative requirements, and industry standards.
• Participate in industry forums, stay current with emerging technologies, and contribute to corporate responsibility initiatives.

Required profile

• Professional degree (e.g., BSc Computer Science or related field).
• Extensive experience designing and delivering large‑scale, cloud‑native platforms.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and influence technical strategy.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
