Software Engineer (Remote, South Africa)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑impact backend services that power secure and scalable digital financial solutions. The role is fully remote, allowing you to collaborate with an international engineering team while solving complex challenges at the intersection of finance, blockchain, and cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain high‑quality backend services.
• Own software components from architecture through production monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Build secure, fault‑tolerant and scalable solutions for large user bases.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to address technical challenges.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, including microservices, cloud‑native and distributed systems.
• Apply modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing and continuous delivery.
• Utilise Event‑Driven Architecture and Domain‑Driven Design to create maintainable systems.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge‑sharing activities.
